Potted Plant - 6" Dracaena 'Corn Plant' (Dracaena Massangeana)

The Dracaena Corn Plant, like all other Dracaenas, are tolerant of low light, missed waterings, and general neglect. This Dracaena, also called a Massangeanna, is especially popular because of its long graceful green leaves that have a yellow and light green stripe running down the centre. The leaves of a Corn Plant Dracaena grow out of a central woody stalk much like a real corn stalk. When small Dracaena Corn Plants can sit on a table, but their claim to fame is as a stately cane plant growing up to 10-12 feet tall.

LIGHT CONDITIONS:  A Corn Plant Dracaena can tolerate low light but grows faster and produces larger leaves in medium to bright indirect light. Unlike the very low-light Dracaena Janet Craig with its deep green leaves, the pale yellow center stripe in the leaves of a Dracaena Corn Plant requires better light.

WATER CONDITIONS: Like all Dracaenas, the top 50-75% of the soil of a Corn Plant Dracaena needs to dry out before watering. A Dracaena Plant survives under- watering but quickly dies from over-watering. If your water contains fluoride or chlorine, allow it sit out over-night so the fluoride can dissipate before using it to water any Dracaena Plants. High concentrations of fluoride damage the leaves of Dracaenas.
